Do you think you should change yourself, for other people to like you?

people give suggestions or whatever about how certain people dress, act, think, etc-

in the past i've dumbed down my intelligence, changed my hair, clothes, etc- for people to like me-

and even now i've moved on- and people are so unsatisfied still- your hair is too much in your face- don't wear makeup- don't look like a hippie- and these are friends and family- even some associates-

so i'm wondering- do you think you should change yourself, for others to like you?Do you think you should change yourself, for other people to like you?
Plain and simple, you have to be you. You can make yourself up to be what people around you want, but all you are doing is putting on a mask to hide who you truly are. If someone does not appreciate who you are then they are not worth the time of day. Be who makes you happy.

If you are smart, be smart. If you want to look a certain way then do it. You cannot be happy living the life other people design for you.

Look at it this way, are you going to let these people run your life or are you going to run your life? Be happy. It is your life.Do you think you should change yourself, for other people to like you?
Within reason - you know, like wearing clothes in public and not killing people and paying your taxes. Beyond that, you have to be yourself. If you try to suppress it you'll be miserable and it'll sneak out of you besides.
when i was younger, i used to think so. now if i were to change myself so that others could like me, then i would end up spending my whole life without ever knowing myself. sooner or later, you'll end up lying and you will not be able to keep up with your lies.

once you've finally found peace with yourself, it becomes so attractive to people. even if they still don't agree with your style, they will gravitate towards you always. also, you will no longer feel need to explain to people why you look the way you look

take care
